Goa Trip Under 5000
Hello guys, since I’ve been on a budget trip, let’s plan a trip under Rs 5000 for Goa
So friends, if you’re planning a Goa trip with friends, this is the ultimate guide for a budget trip. If you’re planning with your family, it’s going to be more expensive as we can share the expenses with friends.
We need to know some basic details of Goa before we start a trip to Goa. Goa is divided mainly into two regions, i.e. Goa to North, Goa to South
North Goa– It’s kind of Happening places, there you’re going to see a lot of young crowds. It’s all about beaches, parties and drinking, which is the perfect place to go with friends. North Goa has all the popular beaches such as Anjuna, Vagator, Goa beach
Popular spots
- Dona Paula
- Chapora fort Vagator
- Agauda Light House
- Sinquerim fort
South Goa or Old Goa, On the other hand, if you are with your family, it’s better. It’s a quiet and subtle place where on beaches you can chill out. The crowd is on the elder side as well. Most of them are churches. One day’s tour is going to be enough.
Popular spots in South Goa
- Cabo de Rama Fort, sunset point
- Yes point, heart shaped lake.
- Old goa church
1)TRAVEL-There are various modes of transportation from various cities to Goa (Road, Rail, Air),which depends on your budget.
TRAIN-There are three major train stations in Goa. Madgoan (South) , Thivim (Noth) , Vasco da Gama.
BUS-Bus fare varies from season to season. During peak season one can expect one way fare as low as 1000–1500,but in off season bus fare generally varies from 500–800.There are many bus operators from various cities which can be found on Redbus.in. There are Goa Tourism buses also which runs both AC and NON-AC buses, which would also cost around 600–800.
FLIGHT – The flight fare also varies from season to season as low as 1000–1200,but it would also incur an additional cost as Airport is far away from the city.
So if you go by train your round trip will sum upto as low as 1000 rupees and Bus or flight would cost around 2000–3000.
2)ACCOMMODATION – You can book Hotel through
Goibibo – which offers a lot of discount, which will get you a hotel for as low as 600–700 for two people near calungate beach. I stayed in Marshall Guest House, calungate which costed me around 700 for a double room with AC which was very near to the beach. There are many budget place near calungate beach such as Veronica Guest house, Gabriel Guest house etc. Calungate beach is near to baga beach, candolim and anjuna.
One can find hotels as low as 900–1000 in Panaji which would be away from the beach.
3)Food-Goa is full with restaurants and cafes and shacks. One can find variety of food available here in goa, which also totally depends on your budget.
Since everyone has different food habits, for a day on an average food costs would come upto 300–500 per person.
4)Drinks- Since its goa, liquors are served at discount around 50% off. So on an average, it would cost you around 300 per head.
5)Local travel and sight seeing – One can hire an Activa or bike on rent on per day basis, as taxi and auto fares are very high in goa.
An activa will cost around 300–350 per day and bike would cost around 400–450.
So the total expenses for me from Pune were
Rs – 700 (Pune to Madgaon -350, Madgoan to Pune -350)
Rs – 2250 ( Hotel for 3 days @750/day)
Rs – 1500 ( Food)
Rs – 500 ( Activa on twin sharing)
Total- Rs 4950
Without burning a hole in your pocket, you can easily plan a long awaited Goa Trip.
